Error Installing OEM XP Recovery Disc on New Hard Drive

I have been trying to install my Sony OEM XP disc on a new hard drive, because my current new is about to die! I recently finished this process for another Sony computer in my house it worked great, but for my box I am getting a “Unknown Error” message at the completion of the first of three recovery discs, no matter which recovery method I choice. So I have bring looking all over the net for a solution, but I am getting nowhere... So I am ask anyone to leave a comment with possible solutions, Thanks
